INDIA DRY
GIN

A product of intrinsic quality and authentic Indian provenance.

TERAI India Dry Gin is a modern gin rooted in London Dry Gin traditions but with an intrinsically Indian flavour profile and character.

It is a vibrant gin which begins with lush green notes lifted by a citrus zest. This is followed by a characteristic floral bouquet and a sweet and piney juniper aroma. On the palate, sweet and herbaceous flavours are balanced by a dry spice and savoury finish.

COCKTAILS

A smooth gin completely at home in both simple and sophisticated cocktails.

TERAI  माटी॔नी

  1. Measure 2 tsps of tea leaves - we recommend Jodhpur Blend by No.3 Clive Road. Tie it in a muslin cloth.
  2. Infuse 60ml of TERAI with the tea bag for 1 minute.
  3. Strain the infused tea into a shaker with ice.
  4. Throw the infused TERAI from one tumbler to another until your martini is nicely chilled and sufficiently diluted.
  5. To serve, pour the cocktail into a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a lime peel.

Cloudy Bae

  1. In a shaker, pour 45ml TERAI, 20ml litchi cordial, 20ml lemon juice, and 3 drops of vanilla extract.
  2. Add ice and shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a champagne flute through a fine-mesh strainer and top with 60ml sparkling wine.
  4. Garnish with a fresh litchi.
  5. For the litchi cordial: Use 200ml sweet litchi juice and reduce it in a pan over low heat until it gets to a syrup consistency. Use it once it cools down.

TERAI Bramble

  1. To a shaker add 50ml TERAI, 20ml lime juice, and 20ml sugar syrup on ice and shake.
  2. Pour over crushed ice in an Old Fashioned glass.
  3. Float 10ml Crème de Mûre (blackberry syrup) on top.
  4. Garnish with an orange slice. Serve and enjoy.
  5. For sugar syrup: Boil equal parts of sugar and water over low heat and stir till sugar dissolves. Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.

Raw Turmeric Negroni

  1. Infuse 120ml of Bianco vermouth with 100gms raw turmeric for 24 hours. Strain and store in the fridge.
  2. To make the cocktail, add 45ml TERAI, 3oml infused vermouth and 30ml Campari in a mixing glass or tumbler with ice.
  3. Stir for approximately 30 seconds or until nicely chilled.
  4. To serve, pour the cocktail in an Old Fashioned glass on cubes of ice and garnish with an orange twist.

Terai is a belt of fertile marshlands running along the foothills of the Himalayas. Watered by springs and rivers, this land is lush, bountiful and fresh – all echoed in our carefully crafted TERAI gin.

The Swarup family, the founders, have a long history of agriculture and distillation in the region, and are dedicated to preserving the sanctity of the land and its people.

Established by Shekhar Swarup, a 4th generation distiller, our distillery in Behror, Rajasthan houses a custom-made Carl copper pot-still. Here we create our gin with eleven botanicals in a traditional one-shot London Dry process.

The base distillate, TERAI’s pure heart, is the rice grain spirit selected from the adjoining family distillery. This Grain to Glass process gives us the ability to best reflect the distiller’s expression.

A playful stopper, hand-crafted by artisans from Channapatna, Karnataka — the 'toy town' of India.

Made with responsibly sourced local wood, coloured using natural lacquer and vegetable dyes, the TERAI stopper is sustainable and chemical free.

The wreath showcasing Terai Gin's eleven botanicals is inspired by a classic design found on vintage Indian coins. The story ties back to the Swarup family tradition of adding a coin to their collection every Diwali — a ritual practiced since the 1800s.

The First Swarup farm begins production in the foothills of the Himalayas. They harvest sugarcane, and other indigenous crops in the fertile wetlands of the Terai region.

DISTILLERS

The original family distillery was founded in 1958 on the outskirts of the Terai region. The family has been involved with the alcohol industry in India ever since, setting up 5 more distilleries across North India.
